The project explores the act of reclining during a gynecological examination, asking: How does lying back change one’s experience of their own body? The gynecological chair has long been a site of vulnerability, where women and marginalized bodies are examined, diagnosed, and at times dismissed.
Artist L. Christeseva introduces yoga mats as a medium to shift perspectives on bodily autonomy, self-awareness, and power dynamics—encouraging a transformation from passive patient to active participant in one’s own health.
